Just 5 out of 13

Only 5 days out of 13 in December at Black Sea were favorable for shipping. Two consequent storms 1-4 December and 8-11 December detained most of vessels for 6-8 days giving shipowners losses of abt usd 1.00 pmt dwcc daily against extimated TC. From one hand trying to recover from losses and from another hand supported by strong external market (small handy and coasters are up at Black Sea this week) freights raised for about 10-20% in comparance with beginning of december. Forecasted calm weather with mild negative tempreture would not lead to quick ice forming at Don River and Taganrog Bay and will not prevent shipping despite ice restrictions imposed by port authorities. We expect freight rates to be stable or slighty positive till christmas unless weather will bring ammendemnts.
